Parts Availability for a '67?

I have a 1967 100-S Evinrude. It doesn't run now and hasn't in a while, 4+ years. After looking through threads for a couple of weeks, it seems that there's a lot of things to check & possibly replace. My biggest problem is I can't seem to find any parts listings for that engine. Most listings stop at '71. Can someone advise if these parts are still available and if so where? I'm thinking I'll need a carb rebuild kit, a new float, tune-up kit, new plugs & wires, & an impeller. Maybe new seals for the engine & lower unit. I've gotten a repair manual. And a parts manual would be good if parts are still available, then maybe sierra replacement no.'s might make sense. This is my first boat experience & don't want to just throw money away on some outdated engine. Any and all advice would be appreciated as I've only got $30.00 into it now.

I would call around to the local boat motor shops and see if they can order anything back that far. I personally use Superior Boat and Motor out of Langston, Michigan. They have stuff on microfiche dating all the way back to at least 1964 as I own a 28hp Johnson RX-12 Manufactured in 1964 and can still get a lot of parts ordered through them.

I don't know why thier site says stanton. Thier on the south end of langston, not even near stanton. That's messed up.

Liteman, I ran into the same problem myself. Online parts lists only go back to '68, if you're lucky. Service parts are available, but internal engine parts may be a little harder to find. If you only had a parts manual, you could order online or cross-reference to Sierra. Absent that, you can probably find whatever you want at one of the following. You'll probably have to call them or email.

Look into Ebay. Chances are that you can find a repair manual and parts book on it. It is also a great place to find vintage parts. I had a "62" Johnson and got many parts for it, now have a "65" Johnson 40 Hp and get a lot of parts there. Many of the parts are from boat shops all around the US. Prices are not too bad if you watch the listings.

any evinrude deal should be able to get parts also napa automative has a lot

Next to a service manual, the best money you can spend is to get yourself a parts book. You can get one at outboardbooks.com Or e-bay if you are patient and keep watching.

Armed with the correct part numbers, you would be surprised at how much stuff is still available at dealers. But most of them won't give you the time of day if they have to look it up. Surprising how their attitude changes if all they have to do is take your money.

Sometimes that's true. I went into one dealer, though, with the part number for the crankshaft/flywheel key for my '58 RDS-20. First question he asked was, "What's that for?" I told him, and even told him that it was the crankshaft/flywheel key. He said, "We don't stock parts for anything that old." He wouldn't even go back and look for the part, which was used for years in the Big Twins.

The other dealer nearby, though, was great. He wisely advised me to buy two of them, and then asked if I had shear pins and lower unit plug gaskets. I didn't, so I bought those, too. I never went back to the first dealer.
