oil mixture - is a bit more a big deal?

our 81 johnson 70 requires 50:1 fuel/oil ratio

our tanks hold 23 litres of fuel and we are mixing 500ml. for 23 litres it should be 460ml.

It will just smoke a little bit more at idle. Won't hurt anything. With that little amount extra you probably don't even notice the difference.

to much she wont run. i did this. just add more gas to the mixture and youll be ok.

Okay, so you are using 46:1. I slop more than that usually. It is my understanding that besides a little more smoke possibly, the effective octane of the gasoline goes down as the oil content goes up. But we're still talking small amounts here. I wouldn't worry about it.

2 strokes ran at 16 and 24 to 1 for years.

I run 40 to 1 on just about all my 2S motors...no biggie..
