Sorry, don't have the #'s handy at the moment, but it's a 1967 60 HP Sportfour with the epoxy coated coil - battery ignition.
It will turn over and crank no problem. It threatened to fire once, but that was it. Checked the spark and it was small and intermittent and seemed to only spark when it started to crank and when I let off. Someone suggested it might be the battery or the coil. Switched out with a heavy duty battery and got a very strong blue spark, but still wouln't fire. This would seem to eliminate the coil. Figured it might be the carbs, so I tried squirting some fuel directly into the cylinders - still nothing.
Seems as though if I'm getting a spark and squirting fuel directly into the cylinders it at least should fire even if only briefly.
Any thoughts?
