Re: Mercruiser 120 engine stumble

Didn't mean any offense. I was ready to buy a new fuel pump and a bunch of other parts for big dollars too. Glad I looked into the accel pump issue before dumping a bunch of money trying to guess what the problem was. My boat runs perfect now and it cost 4 bucks to fix. I'm sure my fuel pump or cap/points will need replacing soon too, but for now that 4 dollars is all I needed to spend. Sorry I was no help to you, So, did you fix the problem yet? How's she running, and what's the tab so far?

Hey, glad to be able to help. It's hard to beat the Rochester 2-bbl carb.

Let us know how it runs on the water!

MtnBoater,

Problem is fixed, check ball under the accel pump was missing, now the pump is working great. Won't have the boat back on the water till it stops raining here so I haven't been able to run it other then on the muffs. My tab so far? $600 boat plus $160 for the parts to get it running and then get it running well. Probably have close to $500 into gutting and redoing all the interior, but now we have a boat that looks new inside and runs very well.

Here are some pictures of the project. More has been completed since these have been taken. New CD player, speakers, fishfinder, GPS mount, back seats etc. From the first picture to the latest was 2.5 days. Friday night to Sunday we worked day and night to get it on the water.
