HELP..... I just got this old boat that is in decent shape. I do not know anything about it except the following.
Year: 1970
Manufacture: Las Vegas Boat Co (built in Los Altos CA)
Model: Sahara
Length: 20' (title says 17')
Hull type: tri-hull.

Where can I find out information on this boat? I need to fix the floor in spots, get a bilge pump, replace some old wood and snap fasteners. I also need to fill in some holes that some previous owner had drilled to install down riggers. I am new to boating as an owner. My dad had a boat when I was a kid but I remember next to nothing. I'd appreciate any help and information or suggestion you all might be able to give. Thank to all in advance.

Vr,

Mike

Re: Have you heard of this boat?

First a BIG welcome!!!

My suggestion would be to spend as many hours right here reading what others have gone through. Most questions have been asked and answered a 100 times. That will help you focus on what applies to your boat. Also when you do have specific questions be sure to post some pictures,

Never heard of it, but most of the questions you've asked apply to almost all boats relatively equally. My best piece of advice is to learn before you burn. I just ripped into my boat tearing out the stringers and the floor only to discover that I could have saved myself a ton of work if I had just left my stringers be and repair them.

So, my best piece of advice as a new boat owner with some experience under his belt to a new boat owner, ask before you leap. It'll save you a lot of headaches.

these were pretty hardy design very stable but heavy they are good boats and i think its worth the rhino lining 1/2"ply dont forget to use some linseed oil on the bottom side of the ply to keep it from rotting from the bottom cause its going to get wet
