I have a 1986 Johnson 4hp Belgian motor that has a plastic prop. I use it in some fairly shallow water and would like a spare prop to keep on hand. I can't find anything specific. I'll try to get a part # off the old prop and see if that will help.

There are 3 props listed for the 1986 4hp, according to model. Only one of them is plastic, so that must be the one you want. Part number is 318487. Any Johnson or Evinrude dealer. Or on-line at ishopmarine.com Should be no problem.

Thanks. One of these days I'll get this internet thing down.

What would be better? Another plastic or aluminum prop?

Depends on what you plan on running into...those plastic (I just sold a 84 4hp to another neighbor yesterday) props are tougher than ya think

Compare the prices and you will decide that plastic is just fine.

I see what you mean. Plastic it is.
