Hello all, New to the site. I recently inherited a boat and motor. I have absolutely no experience with this stuff, thou I am a fair mechanic. Anyway the motor runs like a top, and has been sitting for many years. First thing I noticed was no water coming from the little hole in the exhaust. I have gotten the bottom end apart enough to see the water pump impeller is in really bad shape. Can anyone tell me how to get it apart the rest of the way? I called to price the impeller and a manual , 30.00 bucks for the impeller and 85.00 for the manual. Also I was wondering what the mix ratio would be. Serial number 1186612. Thanks in advance to all.:)

The oil mix is 24 to 1, if you can't get the unit down turn the prop to the rotation of the engine to slip the drive spring as you try to remove the unit be careful if you damage the spring they have been NLA since the 60s. I should have ask if you removed the shift cable from the arm on the right side of the engine first thing, with the unit down drop the lower section of the mid section, the shaft will come down with it so don't be surprized. You need to get amanual if you intend to work on that model engine, they are really differant. Ck EBAY
