I HAVE 1967 evrinrude 60 hp sport four model 60733

QUESTIONs ON TESTING A VERNATHERM:

Can VERNATHERM be tested like a regular thermostat by put in hot water?
Dose any know what temperature VERNATHERM for is installed in my model 60733?
How do test a VERNATHERM?

I don't know the opening spec for that stat, but yes, it will test just like a thermostat...

i tested in hot water it sprung out and has never reset even in cold water
163 degree and 125degree per manual

It won't retract by itself. You have to push the pin in.

how hard should be to push pin in?
use vice to push back down?
or by hand to push down?

Finger pressure. If it takes more, it is corroded in the hole.

do know if 143 degree for my motor?
i found replacement new for 12.00 deal whats 45.00
it has 143 stamped on and b660.. part number
so i believe that 143 degree
