I am working on this Johnson, two years ago it was rebuilt. Now the center coil is not firing . Tracing the power wire comming from the bus bar to the stator there is 12v, the two wires comming out of the stator have 0v. These wires go directly into a rectangular brown box in front of the coils. Three tan wires leave this box and go directly to the coils. Do these wires carry 12v's too, I cannot get voltage reading on any of the three wires. Yet two of the coils have good strong fire. Jumps 1/2 inch blue streak on my plug wire tester. I have ordered a manual any other help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you swap coils and see if the problem follows the coil in question?

those tan (they should actually be orange) wires from the coils - they carry pulses from the capacitor to the primary coils with a peak of 150V at cranking speed, but you need a DVA adapter to measure it.

here's a pretty comprehensive ignition troubleshooting guide: http://rapair.com/media/Troubleshooting Guide 2006.pdf

I bet swapping the ignition coils gives ya the answer.......
