Premix cause it to use more gas??

I have a 115 yamaha that is oil injected. Im not all the way sure of the oil injection system yet so i have been premixing also. So far i have run about 6 gallons through it like that. It runs great but it used up that 6 gallon tank so fast its not funny. In my manual it says somewhere that excessive consumption can be caused by incorrect fuel/oil mixture. Was wondering if by premixing also im causing it to use a lot more gas??? Im only going to have 2, 6 gallon tanks on the boat so im a little bit worried about fuel consumption. Thanks in advance.

Very little difference in consumption from the premix. At wide open throttle 12 gallons per hour would be normal for a 115.
