Just wanted to say that iBoats is an awesome site. The information I have learned here (Wether I wanted to or not) has been so beneficial and I am sure there is alot more to come.

From chanfging my tow vehicle to buying smart tabs.... right down to my lower unit oil. I'm glad I found you all.

Thanks for saving me some $$$$ We're almost done rebuilding our website fopr our gaming clan and one for a little comedy show I do.... so I will be posting links to iBoats on those sites.

Any other truck drivers out there?

Yup, and I go back to 1693's ;)
Yea, some nice heavy engines also.
They would run forever.

Had one in an old Pete with a 4X4 on air behind it.
Man would it run.
It really liked to stretch it's legs.:D

The one I had in the old Pete, I think was rated at 425 or 440.

Welcome scrobo, another trucker here. Been building hemorrhoids for thirty years now, run mostly west of the Mississippi. Getting ready to pull the pen though, maybe get myself a geezer mobile, go to Florida in the winter, get in the hammer lane on the interstate and go forty mph, especially around Lehigh Acres.;)

Welcome to iboats, Scrobo. And that's a fine craft you have there. I had a 12ft 1953 Lonestar Sportster until recently. It's still in the family, because it is a keepsake (Grandad bought it new).

That's cold, bro... Very cold. :(

Re: Great site

I really love that Lonestar. Everyone tells e I was crazy to spend the $$$ on rebuilding it. I thought the cedar bench seats in the back were a nice touch. I've been thinking of looking for some vintage lights and maybe a 50's johnson for the back. Hopefully the boat stays seaworthy for a long long time to come.

Something tells me I won;t be getting rid of my first boat. It seems to be a conversation piece at the lake.

I run down to KY mostly. We team drive 2 trips per week out of Buffalo to Pittsburgh, on to Wheeling and Columbus. Over to Dayton, OH then down to Cinci and Lexington, KY (Louisville as well) then up through Indy to Toledo (Good old US24. Many a sleepy nights running that) and up through Detroit. Cross over into Windsor and then home. Kinda repetitive but at least I know when I will be home. And I get 3 days a week off. So It's a lot nicer than running coast to coast.

Sometimes I get stuck East coast. hate Boston, despise Manhattan. And I won;t even get into the reason I don't like Mass. (AirAmerica radio and NPR poison my radio).

Running a Freightliner Columbia with a Detroit Diesel 12.1L engine. Came with a gutless mercedes originally. Had problems going up hills on the 79 to Pitts. Allison transmission completes the scene. Been on the road for about 5 years now and just getting my hemorrhoids started. :)
