Hey all,Im looking to put an engine on my anacapri 22',see an ad for a 1999 150 with an extra long shaft,is it a cross flow,looper,FICHT,60degree,other.Is the extra long shaft 25".He wants $3000,with lots of parts(yikes).Thanks
I know your 81 is a crossflow,the 60 degree is a looper that came out before the ficht,around 99 there were changes ,so i dont know what a 99 150 is for sure,im thinking 60 degree looper ,but want 2b sure it aint a ficht

If the motor mounted trim switch is on the port side, it is a 60? looper. It it's on the stb. side, you have a crossflow.
If it is a FICHT, it will say so on the motor cover and the model number will have an F after the 150. You will also see a lot of wiring, computer box, and round injectors on the cylinder heads while the spark plugs are at an angle, not in the center of the head.
It's a 60 degree looper for sure. If it is an Evinrude, it is a direct inject Ficht. If it is a Johnson, it is carburated. The last year OMC was in business was 1999, and their Ficht engines suffered from numerous problems. OMC had some campaigns (recalls) for the engines. Check to be sure all the updates are done if it is a ficht.
