when was the impeller last change, you don't want to run hot and burn up the motor. also everytime you start the motor notice that the pee stream is peeing. if not shut it down, and call for help.

Check your battery before you get to the ramp. sitting on the ramp with a dead battery is pretty embarrassing and somewhat annoying to those behind you.

It's always a good idea to check the air pressure in the tires and carry a mounted spare, jack and lug wrench that actually fits the lugs.

When were the bearings last repacked? If there are no bearing buddies, they are a cheap investment to improve the life of the bearings. Check at least annually.

Check the trailer lights before you leave on every trip. Simple wire brushing the terminals will solve many problems.

Safety equipment seems like a pain - until you need it! Also, if the coasties board, it makes a favorable impression.

Is the gas tank full? There is often gas available on the lake for a small ransom, but having no gas at the ramp can be embarrassing!

Before I pull out of the driveway, I make sure safety chains and tie downs are in place. There's more, but a lot of it is often learned the hard way...

Best of luck

thanks for the helpfull replies we took it out today and tubed a bit. I didnt pull the pin out that locks the motor down. Stuff like that plus i was more worried about fluid levels in the motor i mix gas and oil so that is ok. It was fun and for the prop i have a spare that has some knicks out of one propeller and the one on the motor looks good. Only got it half throttle the waves were rough today.

by impeller, do you mean the waterpump in the lower unit?

If not, then what?

yep, that's what he means.

ya could also get a oem servcice manual for yer engine. it'll have lists of items the engine wants to have checked out periodicly and how often ya should be doing those checks......
