My 2003 225 HO has become inconsistently hard to start . It will start easily at the first touch of the key pad (Ranger key-less ignition) 90% of the time, however, every now and then it will take several long "tries" to get it started. On the advice of my dealer he said to put in a new starting (1000 cranking amps) battery. No help. Then I brought it in for a tune up and the dealer said the plugs needed changing and I wouldn't have any more issues.
Today, my first trip out, it started fine except once in the afternoon where again it took several tries to get it started. It hasn't never not started but it is worrisome.
Any ideas? Is it time to find a new mechanic?
