50hp fuel troubles

a friend just bought a boat took it out and the boat only runns if u pump the
primmer bulb all the time if u quit pumping it will idle put then acts like it
running out of gas dont think hole in fuel line because when disconnect
from motor it still has pressure any help wouold be great thanks

The problem is somewhere between the tank and the carburetor.

Did the primer bulb collapse when you let the motor idle? Was the vent open on the fuel tank? Did you clean the filter/screen at the fuel pump? If you are using a portable tank you can set it higher than the engine and gravity will take over for a bad fuel pump and tell you if that is part of the problem.

the bulb did not collapase but i will try putting the tank above the motor thank you

If squeezing the bulb keeps it running, it is very likely the fuel pump is bad or the pulse line is disconnected or leaking.
