I am so blessed

I am so blessed. I have a great wife. I know that if you all met her you would like her a lot and wonder how and why she puts up with me. I have a great couple of kids. I have the best dog in the world. Everything in my life is great. It was mentioned earlier tonight that I had not been seen for a while on here. Well, suffice it to say I have been enjoying my blessings. And I love the peace of this little slice of heaven that the Lord has given me.

For a long time after I discovered this place I was amazed at the great collection of wonderful people here. Lester is one of the greatest fellows and his family is in our prayers always. That is the level of camaraderie that once pervaded this site. But sadly a growing contingent of malcontented commie pinkos has made this place less enjoyable. It gradually became a chore and a dread to visit this place and see the endless bashing of, and hatred for America that I just choose to not visit a place that makes me loose my peace. There isn't a commie freak on here that is worth more to me than my peace. The forums on the firearms auction sites are loaded with liberal commie trouble makers too, and I don't go there. It's like these people don't have jobs or anything and live to chip away at the glory of America 24/7. I read Mine Kampf 4 times last year; it is more upbeat than Dockside Chat. Libs referring to conservatives as the Reich Wing? That is what passes for discourse? NeoCons? Do you know that NeoCon is the name for Contemporary Conservative Jews? I would take up arms in defense of Israel, I pray for Israel, but I'm not Jewish. Maybe that's why I don't see why Rolmops is p.o.'d about the fish comment. I really do apologize if I hurt your feelings Rolmops.

I love the good people I met here. Connie and Rod are two I would love to meet and swap recipes with. Lester, 12 footer, there are dozens of folks that I have learned a wide range of stuff from. An amazing group of fine people, and then some that want to turn America into a cross between France and Mexico. I have better things to do than listen to folks tear down my beloved country, make personal insults toward me and conservatives in general, etc. I wish everyone here the very best. Like me or hate, I wish you all the very best for the future. That includes you too Mr Cornwell. Be blessed. I'm out.

That "peace" thing -- inner peace, is a priceless thing, SW. As you have illustrated, not many liberals have a clue what that is, outside of old Ravi Shankar and Beatles quotes. Some view inner peace thru that whole 60's spectrum, and have had to find a substitute for the god they had to denounce and abandon -- Abstract dieties such as Global warming, trees, trash cans and comets have been adopted and lifted-up as gods to the godless.
But in this country, as in too few others, it is their right.
I look at the world around me, and if I ever had "inner peace", it quickly deteriorates into a funk. The world is messed up. Our children's role models are gang bangers, atheletes who brutalise their ho's and those around them -- including theri pets. The literal hatered for America, and actors with the moral compass of calligula or stalin . I see the same moral decay, but know it is a learned process -- the path of least resistance. And it is worth fighting to the death.

When I come to this site, it strikes me as being an accurate representation, or cross-section of humanity who just happened to love boating, fishing, skiing ect.
I also see that certain times (now being one such), a GROUP of libs attack this site. Judging by post-counts and topics they participate in, it is obvious that iboats' forum is "under siege".. Again. Mostly, they come here, service their attack, then either lose interest, or move-on dot org to the next "target". Hell -- you oughtta see QubeTV right about now!! It aint just iboats, man!!
But sometimes, one or two of them stick. For some reason, they find this site intriquing, or feel their job here is unfinnished. But for whatever reason, they stick.
Since you have chosen to leave us, they have obtained a victory, and just like their champions overseas, have been encouraged to press-home their attacks by such victories. This is how victory is always achieved. It's never a cakewalk, but with results like this, I fully-understand why they plague my beloved iboats, and some, for years to come.

I know it gets old sometimes arguing with such obvious plants who only go away for short periods when they can rent themselves out as sign-waving malcontents in front of city hall. After all, living with mother often does not afford drug money.. I have left lesser sites for the same reason you leave today. But there is a line in the sand for me here. I'll never concede defeat here. ever. But I understand that loss of peace you vividly express, and would do the same thing if I could no longer maintain it.

Of course not, Vlad. But don't it get old to be associated with the lowest common denominator? I think what you and SW are stating is the same exact thing. So why not just voice your opinion in a civil manner (not to imply that you don't already),fight for what you think is right, and prune your roses so that they will be pruned, not just to kill time?
But whatever, dude... They're your roses.

It's funny how people's perspectives are different. For the most part I have always viewed the political discussions of this forum to be mosty Conservatives bonding with one another in their common hatred for Liberals. I've never noticed a "siege" as you refer to it. In fact, I would venture to say that most (certainly not all) of the political threads on this forum are along the lines of presenting a concept, usually by some article, and then making the case how Liberals are ruining America, conspiring to convert our government to socialism/communism or just plain wrong. Argument and debate ensues with conservative members joining together in their common hatred with occasional Liberal or two chiming in until the thread ultimately dies. The cons feel all warm and cuddly with one another because nothing brings people together more than a common enemy.

Me, I don't get involved too much anymore. But I still enjoy reading. I learned a long time ago that you don't have to be right to win an argument. Talk more, talk louder, talk over, interrupt, control the direction of the argument is enough to win over most folks. It's a talent really. It's not a trait I find very attractive in people, and in my experience, more cons exhibit this behavior. It's the strike first, strike hard mentality and it's obviously effective though not positively necessary in every case. The empty can rattles the most. Flame on...

I don't go to other sites n' post so I don't know the bloggoshere out there very well, (I read some of them on Realclearpolitics from time to time n' that's it).

I also am a relative short timer here on iboats. I like debate, n' for the most part I feel the debatin' here is reasonably fair.

It actually seems there are more Cornservatives (like you), then Libs here on iboats. Dunno why. I would venture a guess though. Liberal arguments are shallow n' devoid of facts n' history that Cornservative arguments are full of.

Libs tend to "project" (lil' Lib psycho babble eh), the "ditto heads" et al argument that "Rush" or Fox news gave us all our thoughts, and we Cornservatives lack origional thought. WRONG. What they don't understand, is Rush just happend to arrive as an articulate humorous intelligent entertainer n' pundit at just the right time. Rush admits this all the time. That explains the explosion in talk radio and FOX NEWS.

Modern American Cornservatism is very similar to classical Liberalism. It is upbeat, focuses on individual personal responsibility, downplays in fact rejects NANNY GUBMINT victimhood n' BIG GUBMINT FACISM.


Modern American Liberalism is similar to a mental disorder. They openly imbrace our enemies, all things negative they play up as much as possible, n' tend to work for all levels of power transfer to Nanny Gubmint. Playin' up disaster is their chosen method of politics.

George Soros is a master at findin' tippin' points in finance and now he has focused on Politics. As recently as 2003 Cornservatives dominated the net where the Libs now do, n' Mr Soros is behind a lot of it. Libs or apolitical do not listen to Lib talk radio fer a reason. It is clearly intellectually dishonest, and the immeadiate feedback kills them. Fox news RULES fer a reason. The future is bright: SW.

It did bother me that Rolmops played the racist card as CYJ (or CJY) did to 12er earlier. Ya let it get to ya. Don't take Liberals seriously. The ends justify the means. Your the one leavin' not Rolmops, I would rather keep both of ya.
