I've read lots about it on this forum and have an engine I want to see if I can get unstuck. Is this the best thing to try and if so, where can one find it? thx

It's pretty good stuff. Best? Well, that's gonna be a big debate. You can get it at most auto parts stores. Comes in a big red can.

i use it. on motor that have sat up. not necessarily froze up. depends on what's stuck. if it's crank bearing, doubt it will help. rings yes.

Re: Marvel Mystery Oil?

Beats me what's stuck... it's a 1962 Viking 25hp (OMC based)... the engine I grew up with and learnt to water ski on... it's sat for 15 years at least, maybe 20... ran when parked though... I can't turn it by hand so it's stuck! So I'll look for MMO at Napa or somewhere then... thx...

I also heard that most parts of the late 50's RD's will fit on it and even some early 60's 40's so that's good as I have a supply of those parts...

I always use a diesel and ATF fluid mix. So, if you have a hard time finding MMO . . .

That is exactly the purpose of penetrating oil, which is what I would use.

There is a product called "IN FORCE". This has been the pest penetrating oil I have seen in the automotive market. Ten times better than BP Blaster.

"Liquid Wrench" might be a good choice. What ever you use, set the pistons in a vertical position and give it plenty of time to soak.

MMO now comes in a red plastic container. Found in the automotive section of Wal-Mart.
