Anyone enjoy a nic single malt scotch?

What is your favourite?

I'm a Glen Fiddich drinker. 18 year. The 12 is nice too,

Also OBAn 14yr is nice with some ice and a cigar on a hot summer day.

Re: Scotch

I am usually a Chivas Regal (12 year, blended) drinker but I have a bottle of Chivas Royal Salute (21 year) that I have been nursing for a year or so. Son gave it to me for Fathers Day 2006.

My son prefers single malt. He usually drinks 12 year old MacAllans but he, too, has a bottle of 25 year old Macallans that he has been nursing for several years. I gave him that one for Xmas 2002.

Re: Scotch

I have gone from Chivas to Laphroaig to MacAllans, though I like a wide variety. Five years ago I couldn't stand MacAllans, and now it is my fav. If you like the peaty smoke try Laphroaig. It's wonderful. Royal Salute is amazing stuff too, though I do prefer Single Malts. Is it 5:00 PM yet?

Re: Scotch

I'm not that big of a scotch drinker, but some guy gave me a bottle of 12yr old Pinch about 10yrs ago. Is that any good.

I love cigars, maybe I'll crack open the pinch and try it with a cigar.

Irish whiskey is good... I'm not a huge whiskey fan. but I do enjoy it once and a while. I always keep a nice bottle in the cupboard. In case of company. Right now there is a bottle of 18yr Gibsons Rare in there. Have had it in there for over a year now.

My wife has taken to Fireball. (Cinnamon Corn Whiskey).

I like the Oban 14 year, but the price has went through the roof. Knockando 12 year then MacAllans 12 year are great choices.

I have only tasted Once single malt scotch that I didn't like and it was from the isle of Sky. The taste reminded me of burnt transistors. If you have smelled burnt transistors, you would know that they stink.

Re: Scotch

Has anyone tried Isle of Jura? Lighter than most listed above. I taste a little salt spray and dried cranberries. Don't ask me how I came up with that, but I'm sticking with it . . . I like Oban too Scoop.
