love it. keeps the curd out. keeps a clean carb clean. and a decarb it has been known to free up rings, and increase compression.

Yes,I use it a couple times during the season. Also use it for De-carbing the engine. Out of all the fuel treatments it does a good job. It helps clean the fuel system and helps remove moisture from the fuel.
When i do my winterizing i put a can in the tank along with Stabil.

SeaFoam is a excellent de-carbon product when used according to Captain Dunkelberger's excellent suggestions:

It is basically an isopropyl alchohol product, so it is not so good for winterizing or preventing water in your fuel tank. Use a pure fuel stabilizer for that, and a water separating fuel filter.

Always add your fuel stabilizer when the fuel is fresh.

Sorry, but it is excellent for winterizing.
The aerosol version (Deep Creep) is easier to use for winterizing, but they both contain plenty of oil to fog an engine.
And the naphtha and isopropyl will keep your fuel stabilized.

That is what it was designed to do.
That is why all the major engine manufacturers have their own versions of it.

How about model airplane fuel as an additive?

It's a two stroke fuel containing oil, naphta and alcohol.

And it's cheap.

Should I experiment?

I don't know ripsvin. That would be one heck of an expensive experiment. I'd stick with using the product according to the instructions.

Ripsvin:
I would not recomend the airplane fuel. Remember how those engins run. They are basically a two cycle diesel. The engine starts with a glow-plug to heat it up and then switches over to pure diesel mode when you take off the glow-plug connection. Unkless your motor is a diesel, no thanks.

Re: Sea foam fuel additive

I always had a problem with Sea Foam (Deep Creep), on the issue of how it can be a de-carb and a fogger at the same time. When you spray it in to de-carb your supposed to run it out after 15 minutes or so, but the same exact stuff is just fine to leave in your engine as a heavy fogging oil ALL winter???

Spray it on your finger, just doesn't seem thick enough to fog anything. Not to mention the other list of uses it has, like a penetrating oil.

Just always wondered about that.

The alcohol in model airplane fuel is methanol. The alcohol in seafoam is isopropyl.

Spray some Mercury Marine fogging oil on your finger. It isn't any thicker.

Yeah but it's specifically for fogging....not 1 of 10 uses.

It has to be blown out after 15 minutes, but yet can stay in the engine for 4 months, how does it know when it's winter?
