When I trim or turn the boat, it revs louder than normal and feels like it doesn't have full power. Any thoughts?

Re: Help Help

you are either trimmed to far out. or your motor is set to high on the transom. your prop is loosing grip.. are you making sharp turns, if so don't.

Re: Help Help

Thanks for the reply. Nothing that i haven't done before. We use it for skiing and never had issues. it just started doing this. Now, even a slight turn it makes the noise.

Re: Help Help

check your lower unit oil for water and metal shavings. you could also have a prop going bad, they have and inner and outer metal hub, joined by a rubber bushing, this could be slipping with the additional load. mark you prop like the one picture, then check the lines to see if they are still lined up. this is a johnson prop but the principal is the same.

Re: Help Help

on the right side from the back below the prop there is a straight slot screw, remove the screw, and see what comes out. milk shake is water. and look for metal shaving on the end of the screw. don't let a lot come out, or you will have to refill it. to do that the have to remove the upper screw also, and fill from the bottom. try the prop thing first.

Re: Help Help

IMO It sounds to me like it could be a worn gimbal bearing noise.
