slow throttle

was out in the boat today had a few electrical problems i.e bare live wire grounded out put new battery on set the idle mixture as it was bogging a little bit but it took ages to get to WOT where normally you have to hold on tight when speeding up but this took an eternity. the power was there (not a spun prop) but just seemed ages to get to it have i set carbs up wrong????????

i`ve waited patiently for anyone to answer but still have the same problem cant figure it out anywhere

No ideas from me sorry.
Does it go better if you keep pumping the bulb during the acceleration?

no the bulb stays hard
i have changed the mixture screws so could it be to much air to gas???????

Well, to set the screws I'd start from scratch.
Screw them all the way in (not hard in, just seat)
Then 1+1/2 turn out on all carbs.
Then start the engine
Screw them out 1/4 turn at a time till you get best idle.
Then another 1/8-1/4 turn out.
