Bunks/Rollers; Structural repairs while on trailer?

I have read that a trailer with bunks is better than rollers for doing structural work on a boat.

Is this just true of using the trailer as a platform, or do most experienced boat owners prefer bunks over rollers for launching and storage etc.

What are some of the downsides of each?

Bunks give a more even distribution of weight. Rollers have pressure points where the rollers touch the hull. Also rollers are more prone to rust - more important insalt water.

I prefer bunks to rollers. I just finished replacing all of my bunks on my boat. I let my brother take the boat out on the river for a couple of hours while I reinstalled the new ones. :) I precut the wood before I left the house, and had everything I'd need. It only cost me around $75 in wood and material. If I had rollers it would cost a lot more than that, and a lot more time involved in replacing them.
