I am building one of these this winter. www.sandeace.com I got the plans from an old boat builders magazine and did some research and found the society. Order the screws for it today. 100.00 just for screws, but I went all stainless. I have an 18 hp 1958 Johnson that will look nice on the back of it. Not looking for speed more gawk factor. I have a boat to pull skiers ect. Although it would be fun to try and get up behind it. I am sure we can pull tubers though.

Re: My winter project

any updates on this project, I might give it a shot myself if you were successful, I managed to build a tubby tug 8' jobber from some Glen-L plans a few years ago but it's a bit too tight for 2 adults.

Re: My winter project

Well the process of cutting out all the various parts has begun. I have not started on the frames as of yet as I have no screws to put them together. Taking the advice given to me I returned all the stainless screws to exchange for silicon bronze. The pics below are of various parts I have cut out and assembled as they only need glue no screws. The transom knees. (there are three of them) the middle one that attaches to the keel, is shown already glued and dried up on the table, and then the two side ones that hook to the bilge battens. (only one of which is shown with all the clamps. I am going to need more clamps for this job. The keel is also show with clamps on it. The end that is clamped hooks to the transom. Good old Elmers waterproof glue. And the pile of wood is about 150 dollars of poplar I am making the frames and such out of.
