converting controlls to tiller

how hard is it to convert a 35 hp from controlls to a tiller?
do you just need to add a tiller arm?

'81 what? If it's rope start, it's pretty easy, just buy and install the parts. But if it is electric start, it is still buy and install the parts except more parts are involved. On the electric start you have to replace the steering bracket, which is the front carrying handle that the present remote steering attaches to. Take a look at it and imagine what a job it would be to get that bugger out of there.

Yes, if its electric start, but no tiller its a serious pain. Better left undone unless you don't mind completely dismantling the motor.
