Putting the engine into gear makes it stall.

1993 225 Hp Evinrude Ocean Pro

The engine idles fine but as soon as you put it into gear it stalls. The carburators look clean. Ran a week ago just fine for a couple of hours. The next time out when it went into gear it would just stall.

Boat didn't see the water last season. I treated the gas but could that be it???

See if you can get someone to squeeze the primer bulb a couple of times as you put it into gear.

What did you do to determine that the carbs were clean?

Have you dumped the fuel filters & checked for water?

what you can see of the carbs without disassembly is not what needs to be cleaned.
