is there anyone in the vancouver, wa. area or within a reasonable distance that can lead me through finding the source of my misfire or lack of fire all together? check the timming and sync the carbs. basically help me figure out why this boat won't go over 40mph.
thanks.

Does it have a built in tank? If so, you might want to take off the antisiphon valve, then check the fuel line underneath it for a filter, and or a blockage.

....check out Craigslist Washington state under 'boats'. I have seen a mobile marine mechanic advertising there recently more than once. I think one of them was into the 'Force' stuff.
Do a search on Craigslist/washington under Force...you'll probably find it.
Good Luck!!

Did you try to find that mobile marine mechanic off of Craigslist/Washington state? His (recent) ad appeared to be pretty legit.

What size is the boat? my bayliner 19 foot has a 125 on it and will only hit 43 if I am alone, so I am not sure how much faster you will actually get.

Your boat is somewhere around 1,813 to 2,000 lbs without gear, fuel and people. As far as I can find out. 40 mph is a good speed. I have a bayliner that is around 2,100 lbs and with a 125 on it I get 38 to 40 out of it. I carry 33 gals of fuel plus two people and gear. I dont know how much more you can get out of it speed wise.

the documents i have found say the boat should be around 1450lbs and it has a 25gal tank. me and my fishing gear thats it. oh, tack on about another 50lbs for the paint work i did and another 100lbs for the restored interior. i feel it should be in the 50ish range for the size and hp. maybe i expect to much.

Re: need some help.

you should have a temp sensor on the head by the spark plugs that has an orange or tan wire attached to it, trace that back to the wiring block and then to your dash. when the sensor closes due to overheat it just makes the connection to ground so your buzzer should have power to the one lead then connect to the sensor wire on the other.

took the boat out this am and was able to launch where there was no "no wake zone". i warmed up the motor and idled away from the dock. when i felt it was safe i nailed the throttle and she shot out of the hole like i was launched from a canon! got her trimmed out and was able to hit 53mph and 5000rpm! im thinking holy cow now this is more like it. got to the other side of the lake and went fishing. went to leave a couple hours later and she ran like poop! i am convinced it is electrical. she ran good right off the trailer but once she was warm, she had a mis fire and i couldn't get past 40mph.

Re: need some help.

Time to check for spark, when it is cold, and when it is hot..
likely a Coil problem if it is heat related

As for the weight:
1470 for the boat
300 for the motor
175 for fuel
50 for the battery
150# for the stuff you mentioned above.

Thats 2145 pounds, plus your fishing gear, you, and your snacks.

2400#
