Oil Alarm 2000 115hp evinrude

I have a 2000 115hp Evinrude. When the engine is on, either under power or at idle, the oil alarm sounds and then the engine shuts down (when under way). I have lots of oil in the oil reservoir (outboard motor oil for fuel injection motors). I?m stumped, can someone tell me what my problem is? Thanks, Leroy

Is it a 1/2 second on 1/2 second off tone?

If so ... check your VRO. I recently had the same problem. Note this post .... http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=222619.
