Re: 125hp water tank

I tried to put the Out drive on my cruser in the "tank" today too....

Too damn bussy at 3 pm at lake pleasnt to get it in. Too many sail bords lol.......and too many people takign up dock space so I couldnt get mine in.

By the way the lake level is NICE and high the summer should be great.

Im hopign to get the boat back in on the 15th for the Valentines dinner and take me new girl on on the boat after dinner for a champaign toast ;)

... i knew it! you have been missing in action round here, dipping more than just your prop in the water! Congrats on the new honey. So the lake was full today? Good to hear. Hey I saw the Sandbar the other day. Looks like a fun place.

SANDBAR yes Thats one of my projects.. I was called in to assist in the AV install ...what a pain in the ***.....But I do hear that from 3 pm to 2 am EVERY DAY its friggen packed.......

Yea I met this smoking hot hottie a few days before christmas and have been seeing her about once or twice a week. I think we may go to the Valintines dinner at pleasant on the 15th and maby take a boat ride if its not too damn cold at night and as long as it doesent rain. Its a mud pit to try to get to my boat when it rains and the ground was finally dry enough to get to it with out me or my truck getting stuck in the mud.

Havent really done more then dipping the prop in though today and with the new hottie......But hopfully soon lol

As for the boat after having a bunch of work done my damn drain plug was leaking so I had to pull the fitting and re seal it. Turns out one screw was not the correct screw and it was leaking in from there so now its water tight!
I dont need to be distracted by thoughts of sinking when I finally get this chick out on the boat. I thik when she sees how big it is in reality things will get wet enough. lol.... ( the boat being big and yes, her getting wet )

Damn if she knew I just said that shed kick my *** lol

Re: 125hp water tank

I had to have the motor pulled to have the transom seal replaced. While the motor was pulled my machanic found that the gymbal bearing wasnt turning. I started to hear and almost feel a vibration one of the last times I took the boat out before I had the seal replaced and it turns out it was the gymabal bearing.

I also replaced all the belows, lower shift cable and new U joints in the drive.

SO at this point everything related to the stern drive has been serviced. Now I have a baseline as to whats been worked on since I took possession of the cruser.

Also after the drive and all was put back on the upper shift cable snapped thanks to the machanics at lake pleasant.... ( you can guess who they are, there right on PLEASANT HARBOR DRIVE ) I had told them if it couldnt be adjusted to just replace it and they said that it just needed an adjustment....Well the retainer in the shifter was broken so no adjustemnt would have fixed that...Basicly they screwed me and now I will never use them again. I found a great machanic and he will do any and all my marine work if I should ever need it again.

I will take the boat to him one more time before the summer to have him polish the entire boat. He did a small section of it and it came back looking brand new and now aside from my girl friend giving me wood the boat will once its all shined up!

So Im all ready for the summer and some fun in Humbug Cove.. I have to see if the stories are true and my single friends are dieng to check it out as well. One of my buddies thinks now that I met a hottie I wont be interested in going back in there and hanging out...Yea right. Been single too long so I may need to find another chick for the lake in case the one Im seeing cant make it out there when I want to go out there lol......Yea she'll be pissed if that happens but if things work out with her she wont have anything to worrie about.

Re: 125hp water tank

The repairs ran me 2700.00....I feel it was well worth it as I doubt if any of it was done on this boat since new so now I know Im good to go and for a long time to come.

I was almost going to go the show on Wednesday to. I went Saturday afternoon.

I was a little disappointed, seems the show was smaller then what I remembered it to be but it was still cool.

I was also disappointed to see NO BAYLINERS represented...I wore my BAYLINER T shirt so at least I represented them lol...

I checked out all the cruisers at the show I skimmed by all the ski boats and stuff. I COULDNT BELEIVE the prices. The closest boat to what I have from Chaparral was 119 thousand dollars!

Then a boat that was identical to my cabin space was the 25 foot cruiser from GLASSTRON. The boat was ok looking didn’t really excite me but the cabin layout is identical to my 2755 but a little smaller.

What supprised me the most was 1 there is more deck space on the new cruisers then I have, at least it seems as seating arrangements are different now.
2 the aft cabin space is a lot smaller then mine. I have a real queen size mattress in my aft cabin space these new cruisers are a bit smaller ( narrower )

I LOVED the CARVER Yacht with upper bridge and 2 decks. The 2 queen sized bedrooms were awesome and the full shower DAMN I could live on that SOB.

The other boat I really liked I think it was the 28 or 29 foot SeaRay Sunsetter. The cabin was very comfortable and well laid out. I felt like I could live on that boat for a month and be fine. I’m probably going to go out to my boat today and see if I can get it in the lake. I bet its going to be a mob scene today since its so warm.

I just cant believe that I got my cruiser for 15k when the price of new ones with less motor in the engine room go for so much more.

I talked to Duane from SeaRay for a little while about props and things and he was excited that I’m able to do 45 with my cruiser and felt I have the right prop and gearing. He was really nice to talk to and even said the BAYLINERS of my era were really well made and great boats. I feel they still are since SEARAY and BAYLINER are basically the same damn boat today. Maybe that’s why there were no BAYLINERS to be seen?

Actually I know its because Marina Del Sol wasn’t there this year, I do remember them being there 10 years ago when I fell in love with the look of the 97 bayliners and made my old webbcraft into one. ( deck wise any way )

Well its getting warm and hopefully the fishing will be getting better....The fishing demo in the West building was inspiring......SHAKEY HEADS.. that’s all I can say....I’m gonna get me some lol.......
