Been having issues with my motor stalling, and through some good advice on here it was mentioned to replace my water/fuel seperator filter...So I went and purchased one, looks just like an oil filter....Went on home and pulled the cover and started following my fuel line from the tank to the carb and I do not see anything that resembles even a small inline fuel filter yet alone this big filter that screws on....There is one section of fuel line that is on the very back of the transom and no matter how I look in there(short of getting a mirror out and looking) I cannot see anything that looks like this filter.

Is it possible my boat didnt come with a fuel/water seperator? or did I buy the wrong part and just am not noticing where a filter may be?

Any help would be appreciated.

The 3.0L engines NEVER came with one. They were always an option.
Keeps the price down.

On the bottom of the fuel pump there is an inline fuel filter, that can be easiely removed and replaced. It resembles, the old type of filters found on autos, in the 60, s and 70s, and is actually a sediment bowl, with a paper filter in it.About 6.00 bucks to replace

Also, just before the fuel line enters the carb, there is a small nylon micro filter that can be cleaned and reused. Make sure you have the correct tool to remove the line. If you damage the fitting, with the wrong wrench you will have trouble removing it in future filter changes.

You may want to look at installing a proper water seperation filter. These are available at any Marina supply store and are the best protection from contaminated gas from marinas.

Good luck Clipper 800
