Chrysler 140

Well, I finally went and did it. I bought that 25 inch shaft Chrysler 140.

Anyone know the year of 1401H9A?

Winter project--everything looks ok except for no compression on #3 cylinder. Good lower unit with long drive shaft, passable aluminum prop, Starter works, water pressure gauge sender installed, good tilt/trim. Should be a fun project.

Nah! I've got my eye on this 14 foot deep vee Caravelle. Right now it has a 60 Merc on it but I only want the hull. ----Bore out 040, custom port work, reed work, mill the head, jack plate, custom chopper prop, low water intake, nose cone, NITROUS--should do 50 LOL.

79, huh? must be the first year they made the one piece lower unit.

Looks like 1978 was the first production year for the 140 for chrysler. Looks like all of them had a one piece gear housing.
