What is the Weight?

I have an 1988 40 hp. evenrude electric start, no tiller, and would like to know the weight of it, thinking about upgrading to a 4 stroke motor and not sure my boat will handle the weight of a 4 stroke, have a 16 ft. forester aluminum 1990 model, Thanks,, DAve

There are sooooooo many considerations when looking at replacing with a 4-stroke. Don't stop at weight. Start with why you want a 4-stroke in the first place.

Your 40 weighs about 200LB

If your going for a newer motor their wont be much in it, the 2000 evinrude four stroke weighs 238lbs
