What do you think they should do now? Should Lovie keep Rex in or do you think it is time to pull the plug on the first round draft pick from Florida? I support my Bears through thick and thin but there comes a time where you need to make a decision on whether we want to win or lose. If we had good Rex we would be all right but all I have seen lately is bad Rex. Your opinions please.

Re: Bears Fans!

Grossman performed reasonably well last night. He shouldn't take all the flack. The BEARS lost the game, Grossman didn't.

Re: Bears Fans!

I'd pull Grossman in a heartbeat. You just never know which Grossman is going to show up on which series of downs. He can look utterly horrid for 4 series, then come back with a Hall of Fame series, only to go back to the horrid play. It is hard for a team to perform when there is no consistancy at QB.

I voted for the Grease Man, but Orton would be better than what they have now.

I don't know 25 interceptions and lost 5 fumbles in his last 16 regular season games dating back to week 3 of last season. Rex can be and has the potential to be a great quarterback. There is a lot of work that needs to be done on offense. But it all starts with the QB. With out a productive QB that can make plays in the pocket what can you do? Receivers can get open all day long but without the QB to get the ball there you can't make a play and score.

Just remember that Troy Aikman went 1-15 in his first season. In the next 7 years he won three Super Bowls.

Yes, but this isn't Grossman's first season ... and Troy didn't have a lot of talent around him. The Bears have a good defense (if the offense could keep the ball and give them a rest at times), and some offensive weapons.

JB, I think you're giving Rex way, way too much credit here. Rex is no Aikman. He has decent tools to work with, too, with Muhsin, Berrian and Olsen. While I'm certainly not the first to point it out, he does seem to have great difficulty if his first read isn't open. My opinion is that the Bears have too good of a defense to waste on Grossman and they should start Griese. Rex, again IMO, would do well to have a new start somewhere else next year.

That's my :2cents: . Go Cowboys! :D

edit: BTW, I accidentally voted Grossman in the poll, lol.

Rex is the best option for the future. He must be given at least two more years to prove his mettle. He is a great quarterback. His leadership of the Bears offense is like nothing I have seen since Sweetness. I vote for Rex to keep his job and doing whatever it is he does.

The Herschel Walker trade had a little to do with that. The Cowboys received the following
  • Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1990 (17) (Emmitt Smith)
  • Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1990 (26) (Alexander Wright)
  • Minnesota's 6th round pick in 1990 (158) (traded to New Orleans, who drafted James Williams)
  • Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (12) (Alvin Harper)
  • Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (37) (Dixon Edwards)
  • Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (24) (Robert Jones)
  • Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (40) (traded to Kansas City, who drafted Matt Blundin)
  • Minnesota's 3rd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (71) (traded to New England, who drafted Kevin Turner)
When a quarterback has a running back like Emmitt Smith It allows him to excel faster and better then a team that has no running game.

Well, if you get rid of Grossman, fine, but you better find a QB who is really quick on his feet because the Bears O-line is virtually useless. Griese may be that QB but no guarantee. If Marino had the Bears current Oline in front of him, he wouldn't even be a footnote.

Re: Bears Fans!

grossman is terrible.. he stares down his first read and whether they are open or not he throws the ball.. he is incapable of buying time by avoiding the rush.. he is incapable of going through his reads even when there is no rush.. something about him just makes me think that he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.. he is just a tool..

but berrian didnt help... cedric benson seems like he doesnt even really want to play.. which is fine but he doesnt have to show it by constantly giving the other team the ball.. every tackle has mark andersons number.. all they gotta do is ride him around the outside cause he doesnt have an inside move.. if he does he doesnt use it.. muhsin is either getting old and tired or just tired of playing with such a crappy quaterback that he seems to have stopped trying.. the team is in big trouble.. i predict a sub 500 season and the end of the bears as a top team in the NFC..

but at least we still got DA CUBS!

:D Hahahahahaha I hope grossman always starts, hes the best player on the team and by "the team" I mean every team the bears play hahaha!! Ohhh burn haha. We love Sexy Rexy here in MN. Of course it really doesn't matter it's not like Griese or Orton are any better.
