Hello everyone at I Boats.

Hope every one has had a great summer out on the water I know I have.

Here?s my question. I had my boat out the yesterday and was having a issue with the engine temp. While the engine was at 3200 3600RPM the temp stayed about 175 degrees Fahrenheit + or - a few. Once I open it up to any thing higher then 4000 RPM engine temp runs 200 degrees. But once I drop back down to around 3200 RPM temp comes back down to 175 degrees. A little background info the water pump was worked on last year. Not sure if the impeller was replaced. The engine is brand spanking new less the 20 hours it was a complete drop in and it ran fine all summer till this past week

If I were you with the money you put into it i would change the impella and stat cheap investment compared to a cooked motor. you could try flushing first just in case you have some junk in there.

You may have a leaking gasket under the motor, at high speeds exhaust pressure may be leaking into the cooling water and reducing cooling.

Check your water pump and impeller first, if that fails to improve your temps, then pull the motor off and replace both gaskets , both sides of the adaptor plate under the motor, while you are there you will see any crud accumulation that can also reduce folw/cooling.
