Ign coils needed for '49 Johnson 5hp 2cy model TN-28 outboard

Gentlemen; I need new ignition coils (2) for my 1949 Johnson Seahorse 5hp, 2-cyl model TN-28 outboard motor. This is the motor, that for reverse, the motor must be rotated around. Also, it has a lever on the top left hand side that needs to be pulled out for neutral. It is a dark green in color. The original coils are falling apart! I have owned this motor since new. Tn 28 is a 53 or 53....not a 49 (no lever...that would be a TD20) Lever up there is a Neutral start/shift...Coils anywhere...$20 each...probably right at Iboats too..( and yep, the coils self disintegrate over the years too easy...get a new impeller too..)

Thanks fellas for your inputs on my dad's 'ol TN-28 Johnson 5hp. Probably, somewhere around here, I have the original bill of sale too! Yes, I would also get (need) a new impellor as well. My dad bought this motor new for my brother and I to go along with the 12' Chris Craft Kit boat that at age 15, I built and still have! As a matter of fact, I still have the original cardboard boxe that the wood frames and components came in, always stored inside! Now I am 72 years old and I want to get the boat and the motor back in the water again here in Michigan! Thanks again guys, Karl T

Laings Outboards has all parts. There is a good location for decals and paint too, if ya want it like new

Anyway, got a PM from the original poster tonight...I will fill him in...has an 'Amphicar!...my dad had one when I was 14!
