Re: what vehicle used these engines ?
Nope............
These motors are Not used in automotive applications..........
With all no disrespect to your knowledge etc.... and appreciating your input
I have looked into that abit and have found numerous times that it is stated that they are the same bore and stroke as their mates in the automotive world.
Camshaft profiles I would suspect are different but block and heads are the same dimensions (based on info so far) cranks are cast same as automotive......
Although I have found places that the blocks and cranks are said to be "tow motor" designated which could mean something or not, I suspect not. Another example of this would be, Zamboni's, they are said to have different small block Chev motors when in fact they are the same as a car. Marine application Chev 350 blocks are 2 bolt main blocks not 4 bolt as used in truck and early muscle car application.
Obviously the gasket, freeze plug, and intake/exhaust set-ups are different along with marine application bolt on accessories dist, alt/starter (only diff is spark arrester sheilds actual casing/bolt mounting and internals in many cases are the same), fuel pump.
I was asking so I could find the internal specs ie bore, stroke, deck height, valve size, rocker ratio etc........ since marine specs I am finding are difficult to find.
I am considering making a "frankenstein" motor of sorts and was wondering if the blocks were the same between 2.5 and 3.0, I found intake/exhaust manifolds used are the same part # in many cases so I know the heads are at least similar on the intake/exhaust configuration.
