HELP - no electrical!

I have a 2000 Crowline 202BR. Drive setup is an I/O with a Mercruiser 5.0L EFI engine and Alpha outdrive. I am in a situation where I have no electrical anywhere except for the trim. What started it all was that there was a loose wire on the alternator. While trying to put it back where it was supposed to go, with the engine running, the wire touched something it shouldn't have and shorted out. Instantly, everything electrical in the boat shutdown and has no power. The exception is the trim, which has its own lead off the battery. I replaced the 50 amp circuit breaker thinking that it blew and perhaps couldn't be reset anymore, but still, I have no power anywhere. Is there another main fuse I am missing?

Re: HELP - no electrical!

You probably blew the fuse that is attached to the starter. It doesn't look like a fuse, but it is.
Looks like this.

Ayuh,...........

That New Consumer Safety fuse,.........

The Useless 1.....................

I'd take it off,+ give it a "Float Test".............

Then just attach the Wire to the Lug.....................

Re: HELP - no electrical!

Thanks, Don!

That was exactly it. I jumpered over it just to see if anything electrical came alive, and that solved the issue. Now I just need to find the appropriate part number.

I appreciate your help and advice!
