I am looking at a "rebuilt" one of these for sale. Anything to watch out for on this model/line?

Any and all opinions appreciated.

Good motors. Do you know who did the rebuild?

not personally, but I know the name of the shop. Don't know it's reputation either.

Also is ~$ 2k a fair price?

Great engines. Is the VRO still hooked up? Check compression and if the pump has not been updated, go to premix. 2k is a bit high though...

I noticed your in Portland Or. There is a high demand for motors there. There are a lot of boats in the south wet and Portland, 2k is ok as long as it was a complete rebuild ,Lower unit included, and done right. I lived just up the I-5 from you and will be moveing back in November.

Check the compression.

There is a huge demand for good used motors here. Hard to find indeed.
