Volvo Penta dies after run

I have a Volvo Penta AQ130D. When I start the boat in the driveway everything seems great. I've put new points and condenser in, set the timing at 900 rpm (dwell meter).

When I go to the lake it starts right up and runs great. Once I get going and the engine has run for 10 minutes or so it dies as I throttle down and stop. Then it is very hard to start but once started it runs pretty good until I run it awhile. Then the same thing all over again.

Any ideas.....Thanks a bunch

Welcome to iboats......:)
Fuel delivery issue......
Sounds like a plugged tank vent or clogged pickup screen in the tank........;)

Thanks guys,

I have water seperation filter on the fuel line. It may be in need of changing. It's cheap and easy. I will try it first and give some feedback.

By all means do so.....
Empty the filter into a clear container & see what it looks like......;)

I have the exact same problem. Auto mechanic friends also think it is a fuel delivery problem. Thanks for those links. I'm off to learn something... :D
