Any one have a manual or instructions how to remove a bravo 3 drive. Thanks or at least where to look for one.

outdrive was removed and supposidly it is common to pinch the speedometer pitot tube when installing in which makes the speedometer inop. Is this true? I want to remove the drive and check it. Any Directions??

What year (or better yet the SN) of your drive? The manuals are downloadable, but you need to know year of the drive (not the boat) to download the proper one.
It's either 11, 28, or 30

Bondo's right, don't post your email address on any forum. Bad idea.

Matter of fact, I will edit it out, if you want it back, go for it. But it's not a good idea.

Re: Bravo 3 removal?

I have a 97' Bravo Three.
The way I do it is take a plank of wood and set it under the fin of the torpedo.
Lower the Drive so that it just touches it.
Remove the aft most trim cyclinder bolt.
Then loose the six nuts that connect it to the bell housing But don't take them all the way off.
Once Loose sit on the anti cavitation plate.
Most times if the drive hasn't been removed in a while the spline shaft will be stuck in the engine coupling.
So using you weight on the anti cavitation plate and pulling the top of the drive toward you give it a Yank to break it loose. It should come.
Another method is to raise the drive slightly and pick it up a little and let the weight of the drive kinda slam down. This will act like a slide hammer and pull against the spline shaft.
Once it's loose take the six nuts off.
Becarful removing the unit so you don't damage the bellows sleeve, and trim cyclinders.
Also try to easy it out as best as possible because the gimble bearing can become mis-aligned and reinstallation a little bit more of a pain but not imposible.
Lastly as your easing out the drive from the stud be mindful of the shifter cable and make sure it doesn't snag or get damged (they're a hundred bucks) it should pull the shifter out of the drive a little so it can be reinstalled easily.
Oh and the speedo tube Do that first!!! turn it about 90 and pull up. If you mess it up just cut the hose downstream and add a little splice and reconnect it to the plastic fitting and it'll work fine.
Hope that helps

Thanks guys and yeah I'll leave the e-mail address out. Is it common to pinch the speedo tube while reinstalling drive?

Yeah if you don't remove it from the sterndrive before you take it off. It'll actually make it pretty difficult. Just follow the thin black tube under the bellows and there should be a plastic fitting that'll stick into the front top of the anti cavitation plate. Have to trim down the unit and reach around it. Turn it 90 and pull up on it. DO THAT FIRST

Thanks, I'll do that when I remove the outdrive. It looke fairly easy to remove the outdrive. I thought you had to remove bellows and that it was a pain to remove the outdrive but the manual says to remove speedo tube, 6 mounting bolts and the trim rods.

If I end up needing a new speedo pitot tube. How hard to install one? How much? How far make does it go from the cavitation plate to where?
