Absolutely true story! What in the name of all that’s holy is up with the buzzards at the Dutch gap boat ramp on the James River in Chesterfield County Virginia??? I went out Saturday morning at 6:45am, putting in at that ramp for the first time. There were over 100 buzzards at all around me. It was like a scene from a Hitchcock movie. They are big, ugly creatures, but I figured they could do no harm, right? Well, I came back 4 hours later and found my truck covered with bird droppings and the rubber around all the doors and the windshield EATEN and PECKED off! I have to go the body shop tomorrow for a repair estimate.

What kind of buzzards eat rubber? I mean really, what kind of bird is it exactly? And have you ever tried to explain to an insurance agent that your truck was eaten by buzzards? When they stop laughing they start asking if you’re drunk. I was neither drunk nor amused and to top it off I only caught one small largemouth bass.

Re: Buzzards Ate My Truck

I think the birds are losing it.

On the way home from work the other day, there were flocks of seagulls flying wildly through the air. This is over a rural type highway with wooded areas along the way, with no real seagull habitat or environment to really draw a seagull to it. There were about 6 different flocks we saw, all separate but close enough together that it made us wonder "what the hell is going on here ?! "

Literally, the closest lake to these birds was a good 5 miles away. Never seen anything like it.

Maybe the buzzards ate your truck because they couldn't find anything to eat in the same manner as you couldn't find any fish in the river.

"What kind of buzzards eat rubber?" Genus: "aerorubberouseatus"

They were just eating the "soft/fleshy" parts of your truck. If it wasn't locked they would have "gutted" it.

If you hit one they will bounce a mile.

Its a result of the high arial spraying. Those white trails in the sky are toxic, and starting to affect the birds first.

And don't forget to get a high quality aluminum foil hat to protect your brain from the satellite beams.

We have problems with crows in the City. Not only are they growing in numbers, they're starting to attack people leaving a nice size gash on their heads. What's up with these birds!

There is a landfill a couple miles from my work. It's amazing the number of gulls that are flying over it. The only thing more amazing is the number of gulls that are on the ground too.

Re: Buzzards Ate My Truck

Just got my truck back from being repaired. As I was putting dinner on the table last week a piece came on the local TV station and I nearly fell over. It was about the vultures (I was saying buzzards) at Dutch Gap and how they eat trucks. There was some poor guy explaining what they did to his truck and it could have been me standing there. Seems these ugly bass turds love Dutch Gap more than any other place on the east coast and it cost me a $500 deducable to find that out.

I was able to record the piece on the later news so whenever someone comes to my house, they can watch it to see I'm not crazy.

Well,So Sorry to here, That's Scary! At least they didn't attack you, or anyone you might have been with! Here's something to think about, yrs ago I was out fishing with my Bro-in-law, and a young Gull was hovering overhead he said "Watch this" and threw up a small killie, the Gull dove a bit, and scooped it up in a split second, then he threw up a small silver sinker, the Gull began to dive, then stopped abruptly, in a split second he knew it wasn't a fish, and hung back!? again he threw up a fish, and then a sinker, and the Gull repeated his reaction, like he was trained!? I was amazed! I don't think I would have been as fast at figuring it out, or maybe his vision was just that good?

P.S. Never thought these Gulls had enough brain matter to even figure this out?,,,lol
