1988 OMC 25hp electric start, is set up for stick steering and remote throttle.
A guy is interested in buying my boat but his concern is with puttin a hand tiller on the motor.
I am in no way boat savvy, so I rely on y'all.

Is is possible, and what is a general estimate of the cost? to remove the stick steer and remote throttle and put on a hand tiller.

Thanks.

i would never go back to tiller steering after having stick steering. 20 year old motor finding parts will be a PITA. it can be done. i've had it on 3 boats. what kind of boat. have him contact me. i will explain the advantages of the stick.

Changing it to a tiller is not a problem, there are plenty of used tiller handles out there. tillers handles will also fit many different models, but the throttle cabe may not, so he may need to be buy a new one.
