Im running XP pro. I use outlook express and every time i launch it msn messanger also launches. When i try to close it it tells me that another app. is using this program. When i close outlook express i can then close msn messnager. I dont see it in the add/remove programs in the ctrl pannel. I remember reading some steps to remove it somewhere but i cant remember where i saw it and it might have been for windows 2000 which is what i was running before. I have MS Outlook im thinking about using that for my e-mail client if i cant fix it but not sure if its going to do the same thing. Is there any other e-mail clients that are good that dont use the msn messanger? If anyone can help me out that would be great!! thanks guys!

I agree with Nova. Thunderbird is made by Mozilla, the makers of Firefox.

I read about a guy who got fed up with trying to get rid of add on programs, started a web page for free download that will strip any add on programs you don't want out www.pcdecrapifier.com (if that isn't the exact address just type decrapifier into google and it'll bring up the site.)

Good link Xcuseme.

I use Outlook (not Outlook Express) for work because I have to sync with my Treo and use the calendar. Before I started working here I used Thunderbird too and really liked it. If you choose to use Thunderbird, also google mozbackup. It's a little utility you can use to backup your Thunderbird email and Firefox bookmarks. I used it to shoot a backup to my thumb drive occasionally.
