I have tried to lubricate a Yamaha 40x using a reservoir feeding the oil to the carburator using a vacum line from the carburator, I have run the engine on LPG for 50 hours, runs strong, but from time to time overheats, because lubrication is not good enough, I?m thinking of using an oil pump to improve lubrication.

Does any have any experience on oil pumps or atempting to use LPG on a 2 stroke engine?

I understand there are some engines that come with an oil pump, I would like to know how they work where and how the oil gets fumigated into the engine and what parts get lubricated.

I will apreciate any information on how these oil pumps work,

I?ve been away for a few days, yes I?m running propane on the engine, actually a 60%butane 40%propane that whats sold here in Peru as LPG, like it shows in the picture using cilinders similars to the ones used in a hi-low.

there is a company here in the states that make an electric pump to replace the gear driven pump on mercury V6's. with some small changes it would work well on your application. if your 40 was never oil injected you may have to add the nipples and check valves on the intake manifold.
was your engine originally oil injected or a premix model
its interesting.
