I recently acquired what I think is an early fifties 5 hp Johnny. The numbers off the transom bracket are: TN27 and 883554. I would like to know year, model and other pertinent information such as fuel mixture ratio, plugs, etc. It is Sea Mist Green. Also where I could get a reproduction of the owner's manual and parts list. Thanks!

Yes, 1950-51. Fuel ratio: 24-1. One quart of TCW-3 rated OUTBOARD oil to six gallons unleaded gas.

Parts available everywhere, as stated. Replace the water pump!

Manuals (OEM) available at Ken Cook. (Google Search: Ken Cook Co.)

1951 to be specific, from the serial number.

Re: Identifying My 5hp Johnson

That one should still have the "good" coils and may not need to be replaced, but check them anyway. You also need to check the water pump. I'm not too familiar with the T series motors, but yours either has a wobble pump or an impeller. I think it's probably an impeller. However, neither is likely still in production. Might be best to ask over on the Antique Outboard Motor Club site.
