Glad you're ok. A bit sore I expect, isn't that blood on the canopy?

I can identify with that, I went down as a passenger in an ultralight that ran out of fuel. Bush all around 1 open field, with a herd of beef cattle grazing. Amazing how fast they can run when a silent plane whizzes past them. The field was a bit too small, we hit the fence hard after the wheels and struts tore off.

OUCH!!!!!

Glad you are OK though.

We just had a small plane crash here a week or so ago. The guy designed and built it himself, had been all over the country with it and won several awards. Misjudged a landing and stalled it, ended up in the woods too.

Looks like a T-34, wasn't it? Was this one of those fighter pilot for a day deals?

My barber's dad build kit planes for years and recently went down in one of them. He didn't make it.

Yep, I see blood on the canopy and on the ground - someone had a nasty head wound! Glad you made it okay.

Brother was in one of those gravity attacks on a hunting trip in Alaska a couple years ago. Both passenger and pilot walked away.

We want details - how did it happen?

Cause you were probably out cold. Before you passed out, did you happened to have the Tom Petty's Free Falling song chorus went through your head?
"Yeah I'm free, free falling"

I'd suggest you play the lottery, but I see you already won the biggest one. Amazing anyone could walk away from something like that.

Did that Yak still have the radial engine, on some that did if you got the pitch too high at low speed the plane would "in essence roll around the engine" not enough airflow over the controls to keep it upright....at 1,000 feet that would just about give you enough time to be back to level before impact.....the 9 G's could be from ground impact.....you are one lucky brother...you should have played the lottery that day........
