I have a 1985 235hp rude on a 21 Mako. the problem is after you goup on plane, as the r's start to level off(5300), the r's die off to about 1500, then if you pull the throttle back, and hit it again, it gets up on plane, and does it all over. I've eliminated the ignition by carpet bombing the entire system, replaced the fuel supply line and primer bulb(with an OEM), rebuilt the carbs, new water seperator, check the vacuum pulse line, even ran a spare tank with no success. WHAT AM I MISSING ?????:mad::mad:

Try squeezing the primer bulb when the rpms drop off. If they pick-up you have a fuel delivery problem.
