Does anyone know, is there any place out there that makes snap in carpets that I can install in my boat, a 2000 Bayliner 1850DX ?

I'm looking to remove the crappy factory carpets and have a snap in carpet that I can remove, clean and keep dry to prevent floor damage.

Also... the hydraulic trim motor at some point lost some oil (previous owners) and the carpet in the back corner is oil soaked. I've tried and tried to clean it, just can't get all that oil out and I'm afraid eventually is will penetrate the floor and start some damage.

Any suggestions on cleaning the oil out of the carpet if I can't find a snap in carpet replacement?

Thanks guys,

im not sure where you can find the snap-in carpets, but i think you are making a very wise decision on that... that would be the only way i would ever put carpet in a boat.. I maintain a 44' carver for my father-in-law that has snap-in carpets..anyway after a day out on the boat i noticed the carpet on the fly-bridge at the helm was stained...i pulled the cover on the helm... the hydraulic steering fluid was leaking from the helm. snapped the carpet off and washed it with dish soap and HOT water. took it up no problem. If you are dealing with the Red Dextron III you may need a more aggressive carpet cleaner...good luck

there are generic carpet kits for boats, still need some trimming, and fitting. snaps you install your self. my 99 chris craft deck boat came with snap in carpet, it was in the boat for delivery. i unsnapped it and it's never been back in.
