supernova that was funny.
hold my stomach tears in my eyes funny.
were all behind you cb!
as for smoke.
welcome. the people here are cool and know what they are talking about.
to run a boat on dry land. you need to attach "muffs" to the water intake by the propeller. the muffs are attached to a garden hose with the water turned on.
this supplies water to the motor and keeps it cooled.
starting your boat on land even for 10 seconds will burn and ruin the pump (known as the impeller) that sucks water in from the lake into the motor.
if the engine continues to run without water. it can seize. this means a rebuild. a rebuilt engine on a boat is an expencive thing. minimum $3000 expencive.
im sorry to tell you, you would remember putting the muffs on when you started the boat. even tho its not hard to do its still a hassel when you want to start the boat right away.
so heres what you do before you put it in the water and try to start it.
1. pull coil wire so the motor cant start. make sure there is no chance of gas fumes in the area. try to turn the motor over by using the key. if the motor turns over even once. stop immeadatly. replace coil wire and proceed to #2
if the motor doesnt turn over. try to do it manually by turning the lower crankshaft pully. use a snipe if you have to. if it doesnt turn.
find a tall building and jump! cryings ok! forget about any next step and call a boat mechanic.
2. if your mechanicly inclined. go get a book on the drive (also called leg) and replace your impeller. if it is really burnt chances are your motor is too.
if you find this too much work or just cant. take it to a mechanic. just ask him to check the impeller. BTW thats about $125 worth. 75 for him and 50 for parts.
if the impeller is replaced drop it in the water and cross your fingers.
if it starts take it for a SHORT run check the gauges and look at the motor. check the block, look for leaks, and look at the exaust for smoke. white is not good. in fact any smoke is not good. if it seems ok. go back to the dock turn the motor off and try to restart. if it does. go home and get back on this post for more info.
if the boat doesnt start. pull the plugs and look for moisture. moisture indicates a blown head gasket.
Not much, its junk, or you are a stupid idiot who thinks we fall for yer stupid post.....and really don't care as long as you live east of of any river in the US (can't get away from ya if west of any, basically backed up to the ocean here) ... (an OMC?...hmmm..maybe you ARE serious..and drunk...fer buying one..)
