Re: smoke

come now guys.
NO SUCH THING AS A STUPID QUESTION !
you guys were very helpful at my stupid questions!

a snipe is a long round hollow tube that fits over the end of a ratchet handle.
it gives you more leverage and torque on what ever your turning.
jost look around the house for anything that fits that description. a vacume cleaner (steel) extension handle will work!

and cb stands for country bumpkin.
read I sold a boat and it busted. all 19 pages!
however i dont suggest that you try what the kid and mom did! or well be reading more about you here!
cheers!

you guys are a hoot... Guy could be playin or real - never know, sometimes it takes darwin a while to do his work. Either way, welcome and hope ya get what ya came by for.

I thought a snipe was one of them guys (ie MM) that worked on the engines when I lived on one of them big gray boats some years ago... The good ones I knew could fix about anything...

Re: smoke

Those OMC's are pretty temperamental.

If they don't get enough water while running, all the smoke leaks out.

.

I hate it when my smoke leaks out. Do I have to go to the dealer to get a can of new smoke or can I buy some at any auto parts store? Do I connect the can of smoke to the garden hose or is there a special port I inject it into? :D:D:D

Re: smoke

I donno....I have a few older vacuum tube type radios and I know when the smoke leaks out of them it takes a LOT of work to get it to go back in!!

I'll bet it's a different type of smoke though.

Maybe you have to specify the type of replacement smoke you need to fix it?

Re: smoke

The smoke you see is called factory smoke. It is put in every unit.
Electric Motors also have it. When the smoke come out your done.
I keep telling my bosses if I could get the smoke back in it would run.
No luck so far.

Re: smoke

Don't worry, if all the water didn't get out as steam, it will probably freeze and open a door of its own.

Re: smoke

Ok.

If you're really serious.

you have five things you should do.....

1. stay away from the bar.

2. buy/obtain another suitable engine. (Or take yours to a machine shop and have them rebuild it)

3. replace the raw water pump and housing.

4. before you take the boat out after replacing the engine, stay away from the bar.

5. If you're unable to do #1 and #4, Put the boat on craigslist in the FREE section

Anyone else got something to add?

CB, other fellow southerners, and I have lots of snipes down here. In fact, come on down, we will take you outsiders and foreigners snipe hunting some time. Its really fun! :) We usually drink whiskey or bneer first, but if jagerbombs are your thing, go right ahead.

Re: smoke

I think this is a good place to close this thread.
If the original poster is serious, then he can start a new thread with some decent information to start with.
