Hey, welcome to Iboats! Are you doing a conversion or just repairing one that's broken? I looked up the parts numbers for the two years you mention, and it does not look like their interchangeable.

OMC made a model change in the 9.9/15hp in 1993. Totally different powerhead & upper cowlings.

The drive shaft will fit but the shifting linkage is different as the newer motors have a shifting lever mounted in the front of the motor & not on the side like the pre 93s. The lower unit is basically the same (water intake & zincs are different) but about all the other internals including water pump are the same.

I Was Told That The Splines Might Be Different On The Newer Drive Shafts Any Truth To That? Thanks
